Yes, I know I am very late with this post, but better late than never. Our stitching weekend was a great success with talented tutors, Gail Pan, Helen Stubbings & Jennifer Knol. Our ladies arrived to the see the Community Centre decorated with large pink & aqua paper flowers, matching goodie bags & an amazing display of samples by the tutors. Not sure how Helen got all hers in her luggage from Tassie. Ladies tried a variety of skills from wool applique to backstitch & tiny hexogans. Thanks Gail, Helen & Jennifer bringing your expertise to us. Thanks also to the ladies who came & made our weekend such a success.
Gail busy demonstrating to our lovely visitors from Terang.
Sister Cheryl & Rosemary, Wendy & Robyn meet up at our retreat & enjoy watching Helen demonstrating.
Jennifer had a busy day demonstrating her felt applique with Lexie & Janet watching on.
The June Newsletter has been added to our Blog site under the Newsletter heading on the right. Hope you find something to interest you there.
Just arrived in the shop today is this amazing LED Light Box. If you have been looking for a light box, we know you will love this one. It is so thin & light that you can tuck it in your Craft bag & take it wherever you go. Call us for details & our special price. Stocks are limited & we know that these will go fast. We are also preparing our next Newsletter so keep posted for the next issue.
We were so excited to open our shipment of Vignette Issue 10 this morning. Even more excited when we found our photo on page 10. Leanne was a tutor at our last retreat & took some photos of our shop. She has made it look pretty special, "if we say so ourselves". Thank you Leanne for the promotion of our shop. We would also like to let you know that we have most of the fabrics available for the beautiful Mrs Beasley"s Sampler Quilt. Packs of the fabrics, threads & dresden plate papers are all ready to go. Call us for your copy of Vignette & fabric packs today.
New stock has been arriving almost daily at the shop. It is always exciting to see what we had ordered several months ago. Gail Pan's beautiful book "Simply Christmas" is in stock & it is full of small projects just perfect to make for gifts or simply keep for yourself. The new range of fabric "Home to Roost" has also arrived as well as the complimentary book. Call in for a peek.
I spent a wonderful weekend in Bordertown at the "Sanctuary" owned by the lovely Judy Simcock. We were there to learn about the Electric Quilt program. My special business partner, Shirley, gave this to me several years ago, thinking itwould help me write patterns for the shop. Sadly my computer skills did not stretch that far. I did learn heaps at the weekend & I'm sure I will learn a lot more as I spend more time exploring the possibilities. Thankyou Judy B. for your patience, Judy S.for your hospitality, the beautiful food & great company. Thankyou Judy for inspireing me to update my blog more often after seeing your amazing Journal.
Now that the year is off to a flying start it is time for our regular stitching groups to make a start. The Pie & Tart Girls will meet tomorrow night. We start the evening with a light tea & then it's time for some casual stitching. Come along & join us for a relaxing evening after the busy week. Looking forward to seeing some new faces this year. We will be able to share with you some new projects & ideas that are in stock now.
While at Quilters Market we found lots of new products. The problem is which ones will we try first. We loved this new tool from Westalee Rulers that ensures that you get perfect fitting bindings. Just like all other products from Westalee it is a real time saver. These are available at the shop now.
Another product that we know you will love is called Transfer EZE. We found this when we were at Houston. If you hate copying your stitchery designs onto your fabric, then this is for you. Simply photocopy or print your design onto a sheet Transfer EZE, peel off backing & stick onto your right side of project. Stitch through the thin webbing & when finished, simply rinse away. This is on order, but we have samples at the shop for you to try.
