We were so excited to open our shipment of Vignette Issue 10 this morning. Even more excited when we found our photo on page 10. Leanne was a tutor at our last retreat & took some photos of our shop. She has made it look pretty special, "if we say so ourselves". Thank you Leanne for the promotion of our shop. We would also like to let you know that we have most of the fabrics available for the beautiful Mrs Beasley"s Sampler Quilt. Packs of the fabrics, threads & dresden plate papers are all ready to go. Weekend in Bordertown.....

I spent a wonderful weekend in Bordertown at the "Sanctuary" owned by the lovely Judy Simcock. We were there to learn about the Electric Quilt program. My special business partner, Shirley, gave this to me several years ago, thinking itwould help me write patterns for the shop. Sadly my computer skills did not stretch that far. I did learn heaps at the weekend & I'm sure I will learn a lot more as I spend more time exploring the possibilities. Thankyou Judy B. for your patience, Judy S.for your hospitality, the beautiful food & great company. Thankyou Judy for inspireing me to update my blog more often after seeing your amazing Journal.

Pie & Tart Girls......

Now that the year is off to a flying start it is time for our regular stitching groups to make a start.  The Pie & Tart Girls will meet tomorrow night. We start the evening with a light tea & then it's time for some casual stitching. Come along & join us for a relaxing evening after the busy week. Looking forward to seeing some new faces this year. We will be able to share with you some new projects & ideas that are in stock now.

January Newsletter....

The January Newsletter is now printed & ready for you to see what is happening at Quilters Harvest. I have only just scraped in, as January will be over tomorrow as a new month begins. I'm sure the months are ticking by so much faster than they did when I was younger. I still have some girls who have registered for an Email Newsletter that are bouncing back. Please let me know if you expected your newsletter & it has not arrived.

What's New....

While at Quilters Market we found lots of new products. The problem is which ones will we try first. We loved this new tool from Westalee Rulers that ensures that you get perfect fitting bindings. Just like all other products from Westalee it is a real time saver. These are available at the shop now.

Another product that we know you will love is called Transfer EZE. We found this when we were at Houston. If you hate copying your stitchery designs onto your fabric, then this is for you. Simply photocopy or print your design onto a sheet Transfer EZE, peel off backing & stick onto your right side of project. Stitch through the thin webbing & when finished, simply rinse away. This is on order, but we have samples at the shop for you to try.

Quilt Market....

We are back from Australian Quilt Market, with lots of new ideas. Had a busy time checking out all the new products, patterns & fabric, as well as meeting up with all the girls we have got to know. We have found many new & exciting things for you to see & do. We also booked our tutors for next year. We will keep that a secret for a few months, so keep posted for the news. We can feel another exciting retreat coming on. Those of you who were at our retreat last week were very lucky to have seen a sneek peek of Rosalie Quinlan's new fabric range called "Candy Bloom". Good news!!!! We ordered the complete range & it will be available in the store soon. Here is a beautiful display showcasing the fabric.

We are back.......

What an amazing time we have had over the last month, travelling around USA. We spent the first 3 weeks touring about with hubbies & then spent a week in Houston at Quilt Market & Festival. It is hard to decide what the highlight of our trip would be as there were so many special moments for their own special reason. We loved the cities of San Francisco, Chicago, New York & Washington. We loved the beauty, serenity & peaceful atmosphere of the Amish area. We loved the spectacular colours of the autumn leaves, the grandure of the Grand Canyon & the amazement of Niagara Falls. Over the next few days we will share some highlights of our trip. Unfortunately we did not find too many Patchwork shops as they did not appear to be where we were. However we did make a detour that took us along back roads among the corn fields to Merry's Stitchins near Waterloo, only to find the shop closed. A quick phone call & Mary obliged by opening her beautiful shop for us. We felt at home in this shop as Mary's fabric choice is so much like ours. How we would love to live nearby as Mary was so friendly & we could imagine the fun you would have in Mary's classes. Mary was very generous, sharing her knowledge & ideas with us. We could not resisit some retail therapy & reluctantly left this charming Patchwork shop with an armload of goodies & ideas.

Here we are in front of Mary's shop which is huge. Samples hang from the walls & over the bannister, inspiration is everywhere. You can see from her little display in the garden that it was Halloween. We were amazed by the colourful Halloween displays allow the roadways & streets. You might like to visit Mary's website & take a peek at what we experienced. You might even like to leave her a comment & tell her we have shared her part of the world with you.
