October 2011

Our Shop Name.......

Someone recently asked us why we called our shop "Quilters Harvest". We discussed opening our shop for some time & because of the long running drought in our area we continually delayed making the decision. In the end, despite the local farmers having yet another poor harvest we decided that the local quilters would have a local quilt shop: hence the name Quilters Harvest. Call in & visit us at our new location.

New fabric.....

Thanks to all the girls who called in to see Shirl at Bordertown. She had a great time & you all kept her very busy. She reported that the exhibition was excellant. Shirley was also able to visit an Open Garden & was amazed at the beautiful display of roses. A shame she forgot her camera. New fabric stock has arrived so will organise some photos as soon as possible. Keep posted.

Bordertown Exhibition......

More fabric cut & kits put together ready for the Bordertown Exhibition which starts tomorrow. Shirl is off bright & early in the morning to set up ready for the weekend. Call in to see our new samples & fabric on display. The Bordertown Exhibition is always of very high standard, so it is worth the visit. The girls are great too. See you there.

Back to real work...

What a great weekend we had at our Girls in Stitches Retreat. The tutors Viv, Kerry & Lisa were all great & I'm sure everyone went home after learning something & with at least one project partly made. Viv was kept busy at the sewing maching, helping girls master the skills of raw edge applique, Kerry was busy with her YoYo maker, & Lisa demonstrated her embroidery skills. We thank all the girls who came this year & a special thanks to those who travelled long distances.DSCN3200
