Retreat: a great day
October 18, 2009
What a great day we had. The weather was delightful & everyone arrived eager to meet the tutors & see their new projects. The girls traveled from near & far. Some from Mildura, Adelaide, Seymore, Stawell, Horsham & places I haven't mentioned. Viv, Jennifer & Jo had arranged a beautiful display of their goodies for the girls to see & we had the work tables set up with their goodie bags & a delightful floral arrangement of liliums. After a cuppa & general chatter, it was down to work. They had kits for 3 projects to chose from, so it was decision time. Will I do Jo's nifty lipstick holder, Jen's pie centre cushion, or Viv's trendy place mat??? Viv, Jo & Jennifer were kept busy all day helping the girls learn new skills & making new friends. At the end of the day many of the girls had finished a project & begun another. Shirley & I had a great day & we hope everyone else did too.
Jo, Jennifer & Viv after their days work.
Here is Jennifer hard at work demonstrating the art of paper piecing. She was seen during the day sitting on the floor with a group of girls surrounded by a variety of fabric covered shapes, having a great time. Sue Daley would have been proud of her.
Viv & Denise hard at work.
Linda & Jo deciding which project to try first.
The girls from Stawell busy at work.
If you enjoyed the day tell your friends & keep posted for the date of our next day out.
Retreat news

Four more sleeps before our retreat. We have had a busy time folding patterns & cutting up kits in readiness for you all. Oh, & I must mention cooking as well. A girlie day is never a success without food. Jo, Vivienne & Jennifer will be arriving on Friday in preparation for a big day on Saturday sharing their talents with all you lucky girls. Here is a sneak peek at some of the goodies they have made. We are so lucky to have them design these patterns especially us.
True Love
October 13, 2009
A few days ago I saw a pair of grass parrots feeding on the grass in our front yard. One of them seemed to have an injury, but still managed to hop about. The next day I noticed she had died. Then when I went out for the morning paper, here was the dear little bird beside his dead friend. It was so sad. I hope he finds a new friend.
