4 Week Rest.....

After a short stay in hospital last week I have been given a 4 to 6 week rest.

Feet Up

Here I am sitting with my feet up like "Lady Muck". At least I have no excuse now for not having our blog site updated or all those stitching projects unfinished.

Shirley came to visit me & cheer me up with some lovely flowers and to remind me to "keep sitiching". She really is such a slave driver.

Honestly,Shirley Flowers I am looking forward to just sitting about stitching, reading, watching a video etc. When working, this opportunity does not come up very often. Hopefully in a few weeks I will have lots of projects to show you. I am most grateful to all my beautiful family & friends who have pampered & spoilt me over the last week.

Bush Fires

This time last week we woke to the devastating news of the bush fires in Victoria. Our beautiful bush is a great place to live, but can be so dangerous during the hot summer months. We cannot imagine the effect this tragic event will have on the lives of many people. Many of us can only offer our prayers & small acts of kindness. Check at Mrs Martin's Quilt Shop to see how Karen has offered to help some of our Patchwork friends who have lost their belongings. We congratulate her on the work she is doing and many others like her. You may feel you can help too. As we live on the relatively flat, open plains of the Wimmera we do not think we will be threatened by fire. On Saturday we rushed to Horsham, 60 kilometers south, to help protect our daughter's house, which was threatened by the fires that did considerable damage at Horsham. She was home alone as her husband was out on his grader protecting other homes. She was very lucky, the fire passed within 500 meters of her back yard.
